I’m trying to revive development of a project, where the entire development team has gone. In this project Octopus Deploy 1.6.2.1722 was used to manage deployment. I wonder if there is a way to add an administrator account to an existing Octopus installation through a command line or by changing files/database?
Thanks for getting in touch!
Unfortunately in that version of Octopus the only way to gain access will be through a manual process. https://octopusdeploy.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php
If you can go to the above link and choose a time, we can then have a Skype call and run you through the process.
I scheduled the appointment, but got confused by the registration site. It
made me to choose my timezone (GMT+2), but when I selected appointment time
(08:30 am) it claimed it as “June 9, 2014 at 8:30am CEST successfully
scheduled”. However Google Calendar invite came for expected 8:30am GMT+2.
For what time did you receive my appointment?
Octopus Deploy 1.6.3.1736 : This is the version which my organization is using,
Now we have installed Octapus Tentacle in one of the Azure machine. The existing Octapus is in the build server and its Rackspace. When I add the azure machine to it using thumb prints and other procedure and after checking the health , the status is “There was a problem communicating with the machine” and can u guys help me in resolving this. We need to configure in this version alone.
We have already installed Octapus tentacle 1.6 only. But installed in Azure Machine.
Can you pls help us know the procedure to add a machine for us?? If possible can u join through web link or can you pls schedule a call or something which would be really helpful for us.
The following documentation page gives the steps both on the Octopus Server side and Tentacle side to installing a Tentacle in 1.6: http://docs.octopus.com/display/OD10/Installing+Tentacle
Hopefully that will fill in any missing pieces that you have.
