Getting an error when I try to delete a process step

I wonder why I get the following error when I try to remove a step from a deployment process:

There was a problem with your request.
‘Deploy Web API’ could not be deleted because it is used as part of the release versioning strategy.

There’s nothing special about this step. It’s a deploy NuGet package step which is based on a step template.

I appreciate your help.

Hi Ali,

Thanks for reaching out. This could be because of 2 reasons:

A) You are using the step as part of your Automatic Release Creation setup. Check the attached screenshot to see where you can check and remove that setting.

B) The step is being used to set the version of the release. Check the attached screenshot to see where you can verify and remove that.
