Upgraded to 3.0.2 - lost all packages in my library

As per the title, I’ve upgraded to 3.0 from 2.6. All my projects, processes, teams, roles etc. have imported without issue, but my package repository is now empty. Do I have to rebuild this from scratch? What are my options here?

Hi James,

Thanks for getting in touch! Did you do an over the top installation or a side by side?
Your old packages would be in: C:\Octopus\OctopusServer\Repository\Packages
You should find a new folder under: C:\Octopus\Packages
If you move the files from one folder to the other then restart the service they should appear.

I noticed the packages were in the old folder but I thought I would check with the experts before moving them! They are now in my library, thanks.

Are any 2.6 files/folders orphaned by the 3.0 upgrade? If so, what is safe to purge in future?

Any chance you guys could add this info to the upgrade guide (unless it’s already there and I overlooked it…) ?

Thanks for bringing this up - I’ve now added it to a few places in the Upgrade guide, including the Troubleshooting section.

Hopefully that should help out others who have this issue.
