Tentacle upgrade and out of date Tentacle Manager

How do I get an updated version of Tentacle manager installed on my tentacles? I’ve let Octopus auto-update my tentacles to the latest version 2.4.5.46 and everything is fully up to date in the location Octopus installed the new tentacle to, but my Tools.exe is still version 2.0.7.950, and it appears to be orphaned in it’s original install directory with an older 2.0 copy of the Agent.

I’m trying to do some work with multiple instances of a tentacle, and I’ve found my Tentacle manager isn’t a version that is capable of showing me the data for both instances.

Hi Joe,

Running the MSI installer (https://octopusdeploy.com/downloads) is the way to go. We also ship a Chocolatey package that installs it, if that’s any easier to automate (https://chocolatey.org/packages/OctopusDeploy.Tentacle).

The method when upgrading tentacles is very odd. It creates a new folder under Octopus instance with server name and puts the new version of the Tentacle in there.

In Programs and Features you still see the old version. Also the previous version folder is not removed.

I do not see how can this be called an upgrade.
