Retention policy doesn't get applied to Offline Package Drop

Is there any way to get Octopus to apply the lifecycle retention policy to the Offline Package Drop drop folder path?

We have had a deployment set up for quite a while now pointing to a public share on the actual Octopus server machine, and none of the deployment packages are getting deleted automatically, as they do on Tentacles.
