Retention Policies and RavenDB Package Cache

Hi,

We’ve assigned the following retention policy to our project:

Octopus Server

  • Undeployed releases - Keep the last 3 days.
  • Deployed releases - Keep the last 3 days.

Tentacle

  • Keep the last 5 items

We then started to run low on disk space and upon investigating I found the package cache within RavenDB. Drilling into this feed I can see packages going back to the 13th May which is obviously greater than the last 3 days.

Running the retention policy doesn’t appear to make any difference. Am I missing something?

Hi Ben,

The retention policy doesn’t apply to the package cache; the package cache is cleaned up by Octopus automatically every 30 days I believe.
