In the old support forum there was there possibility to mark a support request as private. I can’t see that option here at help.octopus.com. How can you be contacted privately?

At this stage, there doesn’t exist a similar option (though this is something we’re working on for the future) in its current form, you’re able to emulate this behavior in the form a private message, however, we’ll need to assign your case to someone on our end before this option becomes available to you. (Since this is something that will likely occur in our daily triage, this is probably not ideal for immediate private support)
In the interim, I’d recommend emailing us firstname.lastname@example.org instead when providing sensitive information for support.
