Organizing Environment


I’ve different application to be deployed to windows, linux etc. When I define first environment for windows, i used Development, Testing, Staging and Production as environment names. When I add the second project which will be deployed to linux, should I define again environment? or simply add deployment targets on previous environment? How can I differentiate which environment used for each project? I am worried that I might end up using environment names like Development-1, Development-2, Testing-1 etc. when more projects are added to Octopus. Please advise.

Thanks for getting in touch! You’re correct that you’d need to add a new deployment target rather than add new environments.
