Hi,
We have an issue with relation to releases that are “missing”, and wondering is there a solution for it.
We were trying to deploy a previous version 2.0.0.23-develop of a package (Let’s call it AVisualStudio app), but the related release disappeared from Octopus. We cannot access it from the Releases section or by the direct URL of where it should be at.
However we can see the package of the release in the Library, and also can see the different deployments of this release in the Audit Logs, yet, there is no trace of any deletion.
Is this a known issue with the Octopus Deploy’s internal nuget server which is where we are pointing the finger at?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon,
Best regards,
Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch! Do you have retention policies setup on your Lifecycles? The server side retention policies will delete old releases that fit within the policies configuration.
If that project was no longer on the dashboard and had qualified for deletion the retention policy would have cleaned it up. Could this have been the case?
You can check the project in question, find its Lifecycle and determine what server retention policies are set.
Unfortunately we only retain 4 retention policy logs and the deleted records are not part of the audit log.
Here is the corresponding documentation: https://octopus.com/docs/administration/retention-policies
Let me know what you find. If you can provide screenshots (of your Lifecycle phase settings and your main dashboard) I can help determine if it would have been deleted.
