The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2911. The arguments are: C:\Program Files\Octopus Deploy\Tentacle, ,

We’re seeing this after upgrading today to the latest version.

After completion, environments look fine, however, the error is a concern.

Hi Michael,

This is the error in the logs:

08:39:38   Verbose  |     DEBUG: Error 2911:  Could not remove the folder C:\Program Files\Octopus Deploy\Tentacle\.

Uninstalling the old version attempts to delete the C:\Program Files\Octopus Deploy\Tentacle folder tho I don’t know why you are getting that error. My guess would be a permissions issue or the folder was in use when the uninstall attempted to delete it.
